A budding darkness
Erisha lies west of the Coldridge Mountains range, and stands as a mostly uninteresting addition to the larger social and economic movements of the region. It is known mostly for its unique natural resources, dragonsand and GreatScale venom. The collection of and processing of these two materials are closely guarded secrets, even within the province itself. One other factor makes Erisha stand out, in that its inhabitants exhibit a rigid adherence to maintaining a single profession throughout their lives. While family businesses and vocational identification are common traits across the land, the people of Erisha are known to refuse new lines of work even when their only other option is starvation and financial ruin. They attribute this behavior to a peculiar ritual called the Red Harvest in which natural talent combined with years of practice allow for a great increase in one’s in-born abilities. This is, of course, rubbish. However, an unusual number of historically significant pioneers in the arcane arts, sciences and trade skills have hailed from Erisha, or at least have claimed so.
The Province mostly consists of farmland and hamlets, with the Capital, Kirisin City, lying centrally, seated between Erisha’s two main rivers. Culph lies just southeast of Kirisin City, and acts as the main shipping port down to the Great Rush and to lands beyond. Stony Brook is the last of what could be called “cities” in Erisha, and lies to the west of both Culph and Kirisin City. Erisha enjoys its own population of goblins, kobolds, lesser dragonborn, and other undesirables that one can find most places. Some researchers from the Great Librums have speculated that a number of proto species may exist, particularly near the base of the ColdRidge range. This has been unconfirmed.
